Welcome back to day 4 of this 5 day challenge. I want to praise you for taking the time for yourself and making it this far through the challenge. By not letting life get in the way of you doing something for YOU. It proves you're ready to make some changes, to step up for yourself and start actively living the life you desire. And that's the topic we are touching on today, YOU!
Now, we all know the typical phrase ‘to find yourself’ and many of us have taken this journey at some point in our lives.
What does it really mean?
To truly find ourselves, as an individual, involves a truthful self-assessment of who we are and our belief system. It's not always easy or straightforward because we can be easily influenced by the people around us and the environment we live in. We live in a world that often encourages us to conform and fit into certain boxes. This can cause us to lose sight of who we are and what it is that makes us unique.
Be YOU
And when I say be you, be who you are, unapologetically and authentically you.
This is such an important part of life. It's such an important part of many of our journeys, and a lot of people go through this.
We have to experiment with this, we have to learn to embrace ourselves and work with this energy. But it's amazing how so many of us sacrifice a part of ourselves, or we hide a part of ourselves, or we even tuck away a part of ourselves for somebody else or keep someone else happy or to appease someone else.
So, you may find that you have done this, or you may know that you are doing this.
It is a journey that takes time and effort, but by doing so we open opportunities for self-improvement, growth, and transformation. To find ourselves requires work and time – it means facing fears head-on, pushing through, and trusting the process.
HOWEVER…
Once you do, it is an empowering and liberating experience which allows us to understand, accept and EMBRACE our true selves.
Now is the time to completely commit – to being UNAPOLOGETICALLY AUTHENTICALLY YOU!
TODAY’S TASK: The "Mirror Mirror" Exercise.
Stand in front of the mirror and stare into one eye only. While looking at this eye, say these 3 affirmations out loud, over and over for a 5 min period. Say them with emotion and intention.
I am loved. I am worthy. I am enough.
Take note of which eye you looked into and if it happened to change throughout the exercise.
Take note of how you felt while doing it. Could you last the whole 5 mins? Or did you stop early? Did you struggle with any of the words you were saying? Share your experience and results in the private Facebook Mentoring Group with as much detail as you feel comfortable sharing. Remember this is a private group and only those in the group will see your posts. CLICK HERE to access the group.
Always in your corner,
Peter
